Why do we offer only one package? Simply because the vast majority of websites out there only need basic hosting. The remaining 1% that actually need the more expensive servers are almost always very large businesses that often have their own servers in house anyway. And by large we mean they get a minimum of 100-200 thousand visitors per month. When you get to that point we'll be happy to show you how to upgrade your hosting services to something that will handle that amount of traffic for the best price!
Why do we only charge semi-annually or annually? It's completely a management thing. Limiting the charges to once or twice a year saves time for both the customer and ourselves by only handling invoicing and credit card issues on a very limited basis. Invoices go out by e-mail 30 days prior to your renewal date.
What about secure hosting? Please give us a shout via phone or online to get the low-down on secure hosting. There's a lot that goes into securing a website for credit card or secure form processing that isn't only a matter of paying more for a secure server. For example security certificates, form permissions, and proper programming also come into play. That's why we didn't want to post it here - it's too custom a task.
What makes it green? This is the best part in my opinion. Our provider purchases energy credits (wind power) to replace 3x the amount of electricy they pull from the grid. To be clear, their equipment is powered by the traditional electrical grid, but to compensate environmentally for what they take out they purchase energy credits to offset their use and then some. The wind power company they purchase the credits from then put that "clean" energy back into the grid. Considering studies have shown that hosting companies will be as big a pollutter as the airlines by 2020, this is a huge bonus!
